Accredited Instructor Training Course
Overview
The aim of this four-day course is to create professional cycling instructors, able to deliver cycle training to different groups in accordance with the National Standards.
Content
Full details of the course will be sent upon completion of booking.
You must have your own bicycle & helmet to take part.
Refreshments will be provided however clients are advised to bring along a packed lunch.

- Bike checking
- Bike fitting
- Demonstration of National Standard Level 1
Day 2
- Teaching skills
- Planning and leading
- Teaching National Standard Level 1
- Basic cycling theory
- Introduction to Level 2
- Demonstration of National Standard Level 2 on residential roads
Day 3
- Snaking
- Teaching National Standard Level 2
- Teaching individual clients
- Teaching adult beginners
- More cycling theory
Day 4
- Emergency procedures
- Protection of children and vulmerable adults
- Experiencing and teaching National Standard Level 3 on busy roads
- Review
Cost
The full accreditation cost is £490 per person*
Cost includes:
- 4-day course in Wolverhampton or other venue within the West Midlands as indicated in the schedule below.
- Refreshments excluding lunch.
- All course materials.
- Post Course Accreditation (PCA) - to be booked within 6 months.
- Accreditation certificate and registration on the National Database.
FUNDED PLACES are available for employees living or working within the West Midlands from the following organisations: Fire Service, Police, Ambulance, Primary Care Trusts, Local Authority Employees including Teachers, Full-time students and those in receipt of Jobseekers Allowance.
Alternatively there is a bursary of £300 currently being offered by Cycle England towards the cost.
We can run a National Standards Instructor course anywhere in the UK - please contact us to discuss your individual requirements.
*We may charge additional costs as required for PCAs beyond a 20 mile radius of Wolverhampton.
